JMEC x Globis - Kokorozashi: The pursuit of meaning in business with Tomoya Nakamura

Even though most people spend at least a third of their day working, they are not passionate about their jobs. Find out how living with a purpose can enrich both your career and overall life.

If you are interested in hearing about the importance of purpose in business, please join JMECAA in collaboration with GLOBIS Business school for this event.

At this interactive seminar, GLOBIS University Dean Tomoya Nakamura, who has co-authored a book on how the GLOBIS MBA helps students develop their personal mission (commonly referred to as kokorozashi (志) in Japanese), will share the importance of living with a purpose, how having a personal mission will lead to being a more effective business leader and the strategies outlined in his book.
Mr. Tomoya Nakamura is in charge of the English MBA Programs at GLOBIS University. He teaches subjects in the leadership and globalization areas. Mr. Nakamura conducts various global training programs for corporate clients. He also periodically writes a column, "Ki and Management" for GLOBIS Insights.

Prior to joining GLOBIS, he worked for Marubeni Corporation, where he started his professional career. At Marubeni Corporation, he reorganized an invested company at Advantage Partners. He has also been the Senior Managing Director of Sun-Life Corporation (JASDAQ), where he introduced a progressive ESOP for more than 250 employees including part-time workers. Mr. Nakamura graduated from Hitotsubashi University with a degree in Social Studies, and received his MBA from Harvard Business School.
